Email Templates

Depending on the complexity of the template you require, a basic template will include:

• A header image (or images)
• The email body which includes images and text laid out in a table (or grid) format, i.e. table cells that contain either images, formatted text or both. For example, the 1st table row may contain an introduction and in the 2nd row, 1st cell formatted text, and the 2nd cell an image etc. More formatting text = more effort.
• A footer image (or images), unsubscribe, and disclaimer/copyright text etc.

Each template takes approximately 3-4 hours of development time (excluding the designers time).

Template Creation Process

• Photoshop PSD - the Photoshop PSD file supplied by the designer is "sliced" into individual images. Photoshop's "Save for Web" feature saves time be by auto-generating most of the required HTML.
• HTML Editing/Formatting - further formatting of content and setting the source of all images so that the email downloads the images used in the template directly from your website (and not as an attachment).
• Personalisation - if mailing software has mail merge capabailities.
• Testing - proof and test email template on all major mail programs, e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Outlook, Outlook Express, and Mac Mail etc.
• Design Alterations - further design alterations, refinement, and client management.
